At iSupplier, respect for the environment is one of the fundamental values upheld by our company and our team. As part of the strong development of our business, we wanted to deepen our commitment by indexing our growth to the financing of ecological projects.
In order to this, we decided to become a partner of REFOREST’ACTION in order to help finance reforestation projects. The business generated in 2020 enabled us to finance the planting of 2,000 trees in South Africa.
Through this approach, our aim is to reduce our carbon footprint, but also to involve and raise awareness among our customers and partners so that, through iSupplier, they become players in ecological projects.
The overall aim of the project is to restore degraded ecosystems, preserve biodiversity and develop sustainable pasture management. In fact, REFORST’ACTION monitors tree-planting activities in terms of growth, labor recruitment and training of local farmers.
Together, we’re going to restore severely degraded pastures in order to recreate a forest ecosystem in arid zones affected by desertification. The areas to be restored were previously used by local farmers as pastures for their goat herds.
Now devoid of vegetation and severely degraded, they have been attached to the Kuzuko and Koedoeskloof protected reserves. The aim is to repopulate the Port Elizabeth areas, which are essential for the ecosystem to function properly.
